Nairobi Thunder whip champions KPA for maiden Kenya basketball title

Nairobi City Thunder was crowned the champions of the Kenya Baksteball Federation men champions after trouncing then defending champions Kenya Ports Authority (KPA).

In their first ever title, Thunder beat the league favourites KPA, after they managed to squeeze in their resilience to win 86-48 to win the title in game three out of five yesterday at the   

The champions started their journey last weekend with a 2-0 lead winning the league unbeaten.

KPA head coach Cliff Owuor who only joined the team three months ago from Rwanda was modest in defeat.

In the league, Albert Odero was named the Most Valuable Player.

With the victory, Thunder were awarded Sh350,000 and qualified to represent Kenya in the qualifiers for the 2025 Basketball Africa League (BAL).
