National Youth and Cadet Chess Championship

36 players will be selected to join the national Chess Team that will represent Kenya in different international events this year.

200 players qualified to feature in the 2026 Chess National Youth and Cadet Championships play-offs next.

Over 8000 players took part in the national championships held at Mang’u High School in Kiambu County and top 11 players who managed to amass seven points and above got the ticket to the play-offs.

Four-time national champion Zuri Kaloki once again reigned supreme in the girls’ U16 category while Angel Kagambi from Buruburu Girls School won the U18 category
