Sprinters Milicent Ndoro and Maximilla Imali moved away from track as they discovered how good they are in jumping in the opening day of the second leg of Athletics Kenya Track and Field at Mumias Complex Sports ground.
The 200m specialist Ndoro won long jumping in 5.98m ahead of Imali who jumped 5.58m before Gloria Mulei settled for third in 5.55m.
The duo are in line to compete for Kenya at the All Africa Games set foe August in Morocco.
Back on track it was comeback for Nickson Chepseba after many years absence in the track. The athlete qualified in his hit qualified for the semifinals where he said he wants to be in the podium ahead of tomorrow’s 1,500m finals.
It was a good show for reigning World Under-18 800m silver medalist Lydia Jeruto emerged victorious in the 5,000m ahead of Eva Cherono with Fancy Cherono third as Mercy Cherono came in a distance 4th.
