New champion expected as Gaspo, Thika Queens to face off at WPL finals

It will be an all zone A teams at the Kenya Women premier League finals set for Sunday 27th une 2021 at the Nakuru ASK Ground.

Gaspo Women and Thika Queens will be squaring out for the title after defending champions Vihiga Queens were bundled out in the semifinals.

Gaspo Women crashed out champions Vihiga in a post-match penalties played at the Nakuru ASK ground in the first semifinal. Gaspo were 5-3 winners over Vihiga, who registered their first loss in the league after dominating zone B.

Corazon Aquino scored first for Gaspo on the 21st minute before Jentrix Shikangwa headed in the equalizer seven minutes later for a one all draw to force the match into penalties.

In the second semifinal, Thika Queens booked a slot after beating Nakuru West Queens 4-1.

Mwanahalima Adam netted a brace as Thika beat their rivals. Known as Dogo, Mwanahalima scored first in the 5th minute before Esse Akida doubled in the 24th minute.

Lydia Akoth scored the third for a 3-0 lead into break and Nakuru Queens pulled one back through Stella Adhiambo for a 3-1 lead but Mwanahalima bagged a a brace a the 4th goal for Thika to book for a final match.
