Njogu lead Kenyans at amateurs’ Uganda Open

Simon Njogu maintained the lead in the second round of Uganda Open Amateur golf tournament on par 73 Lake Victoria Serena Golf Resort in Uganda.

The Great Rift Valley Golf Resort golfer fired three over par today to end the day with level par 144 following a round one three under par 69 to take a one shot lead.

He led Kenyans to top five positions with Nyali’s Daniel Nduva taking second position, joint with reigning Kenya amateur golf championships champion Samuel Njoroge from Kenya railways with one over 145.

Today, Nduva fired two under 70 while Njoroge played level 72 adding on their three over and one under in the opening round.

In 4th position was Thika Greens Peter Rimui with three over 147 (71,76) followed by William Odera with four over 148 (75,73).

Ugandan Joseph Cwinyaani broke the Kenyan chronology in 6th place as Muthaiga based junior player Zubair Khan was 7th.
