Nondescripts on the move

Nondescripts Rugby team will be set to leave their usual Jamhuri Showground to Jokey Club of Kenya (JCK).

The Kenya Cup side Nondies will now be playing their home matches at the JCK.

A statement from the club on Wednesday said:

“On behalf of the club we are delighted to announce that we have signed a 10 year, renewable license, with The Jockey Club of Kenya (JCK) and we will be moving to the racecourse.”

Nondies have played their matches at Jamhuri Showground since 1997 with new general manager Kevim Were saying “ASK are developing Showground to be a business hub which is why they told us two years ago. We had to make plans.”

Jamhuri Showground is also home to Kenya Cup rivals Homeboyz Rugby.

“We have outgrown our current ground and it whilst it served us well, the new site will provide a better quality pitch in a better location and importantly with the increased opportunities to generate funds to support the club.”

“The pitch, which will be located inside the racetrack, is currently being levelled and made match ready. There is adequate space for a full-size pitch and a good-sized training ground.”

“The new Clubhouse is located within the main racecourse buildings and overlooks the show ring. We are grateful for your continued support but the coming months is a time when we need it more than ever.”

Nondies are expected to make their home debut during the 2020/2021 Kenya Cup season
