Fresh from winning Monaco Diamond League last Friday, world 5,000m champion Hellen Obiri and world 1,500m champion Timothy Cheruiyot will be headlining this Sunday’s Stockholm Diamond League.
The duo, who set their personal best after a long period without running due to the coronavirus pandemic that has hit the sportying world, will be lining up, targeting a back to back titles.
The Olympic games 5,000m silver medalist Obiri won the Monaco title, setting the meeting record in 14:22.12 in Monaco over 5,000m after she defeated Ethiopia’s world 10,000m silver medalist Letesenbet Gidey of Ethiopia.
Cheruiyot also won in the 1,500m race in Monaco meet have all been confirmed in the provisional list for the Stockholm leg.
