World cross Country champion Hellen Obiri and newcomer Erick Kiptanui were crowned the champions of the 2022 Kenya Defence Forces Cross Country championships held today at the Moi Air Base in Nairobi ahead of national cross country championships to be held in Eldoret.
Competing for Laikipia Air Base, Obiri retained her title to extend her dominance when she cut the tape in 32:49.50 ahead of Joyce Chepkemoi (33:12.04) and former champion Sheila Chepkirui rounding off the podium in 33:24.01.
In women, Erick Kiptanui edged out former world half marathon record holder Kibiwott kandie to win the title.
Running for …won the race in 29:20.06 ahead of Collins Koros to second and Vedic Cheruiyot coming in second and third positions, timing 29:21.05 and 29:28.10 respectively.
