Olympic Games 5,000m silver medalist Hellen Obiri lost the 5,000m title to Burundian Francine Niyonsaba in day one of Zurich Diamond league yesterday night in Switzerland.
Niyonsaba won the title in 14:28.98 ahead of Obri’s 14:29.68 to settle second with Ethiopian Ejgayehu Taye finishing third in 14:30.30.
World 5,000m silver medallist Margaret Chelimo was 4th in 14:31.18,and Eva Cherono coming in fifth in 14:36.88.
In men’s 5,000m Kenyans Jacob Krop and Nicholas Kimeli finished third and fourth in 13:01.81 and 13:02.43 respectively.
