Okutoyi and Rowinska win J1 Repentigny Doubles title

Reigning Wimbledon doubles champion Angella Okutoyi paired well with Polish malwina Rowinska to win the J1 Repentigny Doubles title at the Larochelle Park in Canada last night.

The Kenyan junior tennis champion Okutoyi and Rowinska won in 3-6, 6-2 and 10-8 to win in the tiebreaker agaianst Ella Seidel (Germany)/Amelia Waligora (Belgium)

Now heading to New York on Sunday for the US Open junior championships slated for September 4-10, Okutoyi will be hoping to claim the singles and doubles titles.

On their way to the final in Repentigny, Okutoyi and Rowinska got a bye in the first round and then defeated Canadians Eliana Kook and Anna-Raphaelle Serghi 6-4, 6-2 in round two and Slovakians Irina Balus and Nikola Daubnerova, who were top seeds, 6-4, 6-4 in quarter-finals.
