Olympic champions Kipyegon, Wanyoni and Chebet in action at Brussels Diamond League

Olympic Games champions 1,500m champion Faith Kipyegon, 5,000m Olympic champion Beatrice Chebet and Olympics 800m champion Emmanuel Wanyonyi will lead top Kenyans at Brussels Diamond League, the final leg of the core athletics track and field events tonight in Brussels, Belgium.

In the two days event that starts tonight to tomorrow night, Chebet will be competing in the 5,000m alongside Caroline Nyaga while Wanyonyi will team up with double 800m Commonwealth Games champion Wycliffe Kinyamal in the 800m.

Olympic Games 800m bronze medalist and world 800m champion Mary Moraa will be the only Kenyan woman in the two lap race at the event.

Four Kenyans will be facing off in the 5,000m men where Cornelius Kemboi will be up against Ronald Kwemoi, Nicholas Kipkorir Kimeli and Jacob Krop.

Abraham Kibiwot will be chasing 3,000m steeplechase title alongside Amos Serem and Wilberforce Chemiat Kones.

Olympic 3,000m steeplechase bronze medalist Faith Cherotich will be the only kenyan women in the water and barriers’ race.

Brian Komen,  Reynold Cheruiyot, Timothy Ceruiyot and Boaz Kiplangat will be up in the 1,500m title chase.

Kipyegon will be chasing her third Diamond league trophy when she will be lining up against compatriots Nelly Chepchirchir and Vivian Chebet Kiprotich.
