National 100m record holder Ferdinand Omanyala Omurwa was the star at the World Indoor Tour Miramas meeting on Friday night in France.
The Africa 100m record holder broke the Kenyan indoor record on his debut in the 60m at 6:63, the World Athletics Indoor Tour Bronze Level series.
Omanyala broke the national record of 6:70 that was set in 2005 by Paulvince Obuon at State College, United States.
This time is also the fastest time run at this stadium having dethroned the previous record of 6.68 that was set in 2021 by Hassan Taftian from Iranian.
Africa’s 60m record of 6:45 is held by Leonard Myles-Mills from Ghana while Christian Coleman from the United States of holds the world record of 6.34
