Omanyala on revenge mission against Abeykoon Anhalt meet

Africa 100m record holder Ferdinand Omurwa Omanyala will be seeking revenge against Sri Lanka’s Yupun Abeykoon Mudiyanselage ahead of tomorrow’s 24 Internationales Leichtathletik Meeting, the Anhalt event, the World Athletics Continental bronze Tour in Germany.

After losing Abeykoon during the International Castiglione Athletics, the World Athletics Continental Challenge tour in Italy in 200m, Omanyala will be seeking to overturn the results in the Germany City.

After winning the 100m title on Sunday, Omanyala went ahead to finish second behind Abeykoon after crossing the finish line in 20.50 and 20.37 respectively.

The Kenyan enjoys the fastest time at the starting line up with 9.77 followed by Nigerian Enoch Adegoke who has run 9.98, Abeykoon’s 10.09 and Germany Julian Wagner (10.11).

Others on the line-up include Slovenia’s Jan Volko (10.13), Denmark’s Kojo Musah (10.14), Dutch Joris Van Gool (10.17), Briton Jeriel Quainoo (10.26) among others.

In other races, former World under 20 1,500m silver medalist Boaz Kipkurgut and two-time World indoor 800m champion Collins Kipruto will also be in action.

Kipruto will face off with compatriot Cornelius Tuwei, the All Africa Games 800m silver medalist alongside Czech Republic’s Filip sasinek, South African Ryan Mphahlele among others in 1,500m.

Kipkurgut will be competing in the 800m.
