Kenya’s Allan Oyende defeated compatriot Gitonga Nderitu to defend the Scrabble on The Nile, the Uganda Scrabble Association (USA) championships that came to an end today in Jinja, Uganda.
The seed 2 player won 17 out of 18 games to lift the trophy for the second year running to end the year on a high note while Nderitu won 12 out of 18 to finish second in a 1-2 podium finish for kenya.
Oyended lost only one match to Godwin Murungi in game 8 wherr the two day tournament that kicked off on Saturday, culminated on Sunday evening.
