UOE beat Busitema ahead of a must win encounter with Kampala at university games

The University of Eldoret (UOE) women soccer team will be taking in Kampala University in their last pool B match at the ongoing Eastern Africa University Games in Ndejje, Uganda.

Today, the Josphat Pilishi coached side defeated Busitema University 2-1 to increase their chances of qualifying into the semifinals of the games.

“It is my prayer that we win this match to secure a place in the semifinals. We are well prepared to face our challengers,” said Pilishi.

Lying in second position in pool B, UOE will play leaders Kampala who remains unbeaten after collecting six points from two matches while UOE has four points from two matches played.

Against Busitema, Rose Khisa and Vion Odera were on target to seal the victory in the second match after playing to a 2-all draw in the opening fixture against Kyambogo in the first match.

In other pool B match, leaders Kampala thrashed Busitema 8-0 before beating Kyambogo 1-0.

In pool A, Makerere university played to a 1-all draw against Kenyatta University before losing 2-1 to Uganda Christian University.

Uganda Christian leads the pool with 6 points with Makerere second on a point.
