After missing her trip for the 2018 world half marathon in Valencia, Spain, former Berlin half marathon champion Joan Melly and Bernard Kimeli were the winners of Prague half marathon titles held today.
Melly, who was in reserve team in women’s world half marathon team won the race in 65:04 as Kenyans ruled the Capital of Czech Republic.
She was followed by fellow Kenyan Caroline Chepkoech Kipkirui (66:09) before Ethiopian Worknesh Dagefa completed the podium in 68:10.
It was also a triumph for Bernard Kimeli in men’s race, leading a 1-9 Kenyan top finish with Italian Eyob Faniel coming in 10th position.
The Nandi based runner claimed victory in 59:47 after finishing eighth in Ras Al Khaimah (RAK) in 60:16
Geoffrey Yegon was second in 59:56 with Peter Kwemoi third in 59:58 to round out the Kenyan podium sweep.
