Ethiopia’s Abrha Milaw and Asefa Mangitsu denied Paul Lonyangata a hat trick in today’s Paris Half marathon ran in French Capital Paris.
Lonyangata, who won the title in 2017 before defending in 2018, failed to defend his second title to a hat trick after Ethiopian duo Milaw and Mangitsu won the first two positions timing 2:07.05 and 2:07.25 before first Kenyan Lonyangata came in third position timing 2:07.29.
It was the similar show in women’s category as Ethiopians dominated the race with Sally Chepyego finishing in 5th position as the best Kenyan on the course.
Gelete Burka won the race in 2:22.47, leading the podium sweep for Ethiopia as Azmera Gebru (2:22.52), Azmera Abreha (2:23.35) before home girl Clemence Calvin came in 4th position timing 2:23.41 as Chepyego came in 5th timing 2:23.54.
