The Kevin Wambua side beat Uruguay 19-05, great solace after going down 29-14 to New Zealand and 21-14 to Fiji yesterday.
A win for Kenya was a revenge against the South Americans following their loss during Dubai 7s event back in December.
Kevin Wekesa converted his try to hand Kenya a 7-0 lead Nygel Amaitsa added the second unconverted try for the 12-0 lead the Amaitsa converted Patrick Odongo’s try to make it 19-0 into the break.
After water break, Mathew Turner tounched down before failing to add extras for a final score of 19-05 score.
Following the win, Kenya finished third in the pool and will face USA in the 9th place semifinals.
