Mugisha overtook Kenya’s finest Gitonga Nderitu to emerge victorious in the 6th leg of World English Scrabble Players Association Championships (WESPAC) qualifier held in Kisumu over the weekend
He edged Gitonga 439-383 in the penultimate round to claim the title by a point
Gitonga Nderitu managed to outspread teammate Manase Otieno (1034 to 494) for 2nd after both tied on 12 wins

The tournament was a precursor for Africa Scrabble championships set for 28th November to 2nd December in Kirinyaga county.
