Finally the dream of football legend Joe Kadenge’s dream of meeting the fourth president of Kenya Uhuru Kenyatta was fulfilled on Sunday evening in his home.
Despite the present’s presence, Kenya Power disappointed the event as the blackout was witnessed about four minutes.
And president made good his pledge of visiting the former Harambee Stars head coach.
The president visited the ailing Kadenge in his house at Nairobi’s South C’s Mariakani estate and gave him Sh2 million as part of his contribution towards the legend’s medical fund.
Kadenge had initially been scheduled to have visited Uhuru at State House but the visit was not possible because the president was at the coast on an official visit but opted to visit the legend in his house after the trip upon his arrival in the city.
Among the goodies the president had for Kadenge was the government offering him a comprehensive medical cover.
Kadenge was offered a comprehensive National Hospital Insurance Fund (NHIF) cover to take care of his Medicare.
In appreciation, Kadenge handed the president his biography and two AFC Leopards replica jerseys bearing his favourite number 7 to be shared between him and his wife the First Lady Margaret Kenyatta.
Uhuru was accompanied by Sports Cabinet Secretary Hasan Wario and Culture Permanent Secretary Joe Okudo
