Resilient Puiretto waited until penalty shoutout to knock out Nyoi fc in the 40th edition of the annual Koth-biro football tournament in the last 16 knockout in a hotly contested match.
After a one all draw in regulation time, Puiretto won the match through post-match penalties.
Nyoi scored the fastest goal’s in the History of the tournament with barely a minute played but Timothy Umeme levelled for Nyoi in a surprise surprise quick score past their unsettled defense.
Piuretto crawled back to the match as both teams wasted some clear chances but Nyoi enjoyed the Lion’s share of the opportunities with more attempts on goal. On the 80’ the gods of the dumpsite shone on Piuretto as a harmless and weak shot from Tyson Odhiambo got an over confident Nyoi keeper off-guard and just bounced off his hands and magically slid to the back of the net.
The goal confused and shattered Nyoi but gave former Gor Mahia Winger Andrew Oloo’s charges the ammunition to press forward and on the 87’ mid-fielder Kepha Feisal missed a clear opportunity that would have killed the match as his shot went over the bar.
Post-match penalties were to be the decider and Piuretto were full of gusto as their keeper Joseph Githaiga is a renowned shot blocker. He easily blocked Nyoi’s 2 shots as 1 went wide. Piuretto scored 3 straight shots and took the match.
