American sprint sensation Sha’Carri Richardson and Double world Javelin champion Anderson Peters have landed in the country ahead of Saturday’s Kip Keino Classic at Kasarani stadium.
Fresh from winning 100m title at the opening Diamond League season in Doha, Richardson will be battling with double Olympic champion Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce of Jamaica in the 100m race.
She also joins 4x100m relay world champion Jerome Blake (Canada), double Olympic 4x100m medalist Aaron Brown (Canada) and 4x100m world champion Terry ‘Tee Tee’ Twanisha (USA).
Peters beat 2016 Olympic silver medallist Julius Yego last year.
Olympic 4x100m silver medalist Teahna Daniels (USA), the 2015 Pan American Games 200m silver medalist Kyra Jefferson (USA), North American, Central American and Caribbean Athletic Association 4x100m relay champion Kyree King and 200m Olympic silver medalist Kenny Bednarek. Former European women’s 1,500m champion Angelika Cichocka was the first foreign athlete to arrive in the country on Sunday morning.
