Elvis Rupia was awarded the golden boot at the concluded Kenya Premier League breaking the 47-year gold Golden Boot record.
The Kenya Police FC striker scored 27 goals to beat Gor Mahia’s Benson Omalla to end the long spell of shattered the previous record of 26 goals set by Moris Aloo Sonyi who played for Gor Mahia in the 1976 Kenyan Premier League season.
The immediate AFC Leopards player also won the golden boot while playing for Zambian top-flight side Power Dynamos in 2018 after leaving Nzoia Sugar.
Meanwhile, Omalla says he is unfazed by the unfortunate turn of events that grabbed the meat right from his mouth.
