Sawe and Chepngetich to battle for Berlin Half marathon titles

Reigning Bahrain half marathon champion Sebastien Kimaru Sawe and Ludwina Chepn’etich have set their eyes on winning the Berlin half marathon set for April 1st in Berlin Germany.
The Rome-Ostia half marathon champion said that he is preparing well in his kapsabet training base ahead of the race where he is the second best runner at the starting line up according to the list of runners that were released last week.
“It is my first time to run at the Berlin half marathon and I am preparing well for the race. It has been a few days since running in a major race and I am hoping for better results on Sunday,” said Sawe.
So far, Sawe has won four out of five half marathons he has competed in plus winning the national cross country ahead of World cross country Championships where he finished 7th in the senior men’s category.
“I have had a good run in half marathons, winning Rome-Ostia with the course record, finishing 6th in valencia, Winning bahrain with a course record among others,” said Sawe.
Speaking for the first time after World cross country, Sawe said it was bad weather as well as hilly course that hindered his mission to win the first world cross country title.
“The race was not that easy. It was a hard course and the weather did not favour us much but we tried our best to win something for team kenya,” added Sawe.
In Berlin, Sawe will team up with compatriots Alex kibet, Philemon Kiplimo, Charles Wanjiku, Simon Ekidor and Patrick Kipngeno.
In women, Ludwina Chepngeno will be the only kenyan to fly the kenyan flag
