Scrabble Kenya picks 17 for ASC championships in Kigali

Scrabble Kenya has selected 17 players that will fly the Kenyan flag at the Africa Scrabble Championships (ASC) formerly Pan Africa Scrabble championships 9PANASA) that will be held in Kigali, Rwanda by next week.

Grand Master Allan Oyende will lead the Word warriors contingent to Paul Kagame led nation in the battle individual and team titles.

The federation President Kipkemoi Limo said that the team is in high spirit after the completion of qualifiers played across the country in preparation for the championships set to start off from

Starting from October 23rd to 27th in Kigali after it was moved from Freetown, Sierra Leone to Rwanda with the same dates.

“As a nation, we are ready for the championships and we hope to come home with the best results ever. The team has been training very well and they are focused to deliver good results,” said Limo.

Oyende was selected alongside the reigning ECASA champion Patrick Nderitu Gitonga, the Bondo meeting winner Bernard Koyyoko, 2023 Kakamega meeting winner Richard Okechi, former chairman and Mombasa winner Bernard Amuke, Mombasa winner Manase Otieno, Francis Wachira, Machakos Stanley Njoroge, Kipruto Tarus (captain), former Eldoret winner Onani Magwanga, Uganda Open champion David Kimani, Muema Muumbi, Fred Magu, Limo Kipkemoi, Cecilia Rutom, Julius Auka, ECASA champion Patrick Nderitu Gitonga and Mutahi Martins.
