Shabana beat Mombasa Heroes to widen top of the table gap

Former Kenya Premier league side Shabana fc defeated their hosts Mombasa Heroes in today’s National Super League played at the Mbaraki Sports ground.

The 1-0 on Monday afternoon moved the Kisii based club to the top by widening the gap on the table as battle for promotion intensifies.

Peter Ogechi scored the only goal for his 4th of the season to accumulate 25 points from nine games while second placed Kibera Black Stars has 17 points with a game in hand ahead of their clash come February 8th at Ligi Ndogo grounds.

In other matches, Murang’a Seals beat Vihiga United 3-1 to move to third position as Mara Sugar climbed to fourth after beating Mully Children’s Family (MCF) 1-0 at Awendo Green Stadium.  

In other matches played on Sunday, Naivas upset Migori Youth 1-0 while Silibwet Leones and Gusii FC drew 2-2 at Gusii Stadium.
