Sharks move second with a win over Homeboyz

Kariobangi Sharks moved into the second position of Kenya Premier League after beating Kakamega Homeboyz in the first match after league resumption.

A solitary goal from Patilah Omotto was enough for Sharks to defeat traveling Homeboyz in a match playes at the Utalii Grounds in Nairobi.

The win has propelled Sharks into the second position on 31 points, relegating KCB to third position on 30 points with the former playing 16 matches against banker’s 15.

A win or a draw for KCB tomorrow against leaders Tusker 33 points, will return into the second position.

Being the first match since sporting activities in the country were suspended on March 26 due to the rise in Covid-19 infections, guidelines released by the Ministries of Sports and Health to help contain the spread of the disease were strictly observed

Sharks coach William Muluya was elated with the victory, coming against Homeboyz who have beaten them in six of their last seven meetings.

Homeboyz coach Nicholas Muyoti said he is satisfied with his side’s performance.
