Shujaa, the national rugby sevens team lost to the USA in the opening match of the ongoing Olympic Games in Tokyo, Japan.
The Innocent Simiyu led charges fell 14-19 to USA in their opening Pool ‘C’ match with USA’s Carlin Isles touching down first before Martin Iosefo doubled for a 12-0 lead.
Collins Injera converted his try for a 12-07 lead then Jeffrey Oluoch equaled 12-12 and Eden Agero converted to give Kenya a 14-12 lead but Hughes landed a converted try to beat Kenya 19-14.
The next match, Shujaa will take on continental counterparts South Africa who beat Ireland 33-14 to lead pool C.
