Simader, to fly Kenyan at World Ski Championships in France

Alpine Skier Sabrina Wanjiku Simader will be the only Kenyan that will compete at the 2023 FIS Alpine World Ski Championships set for France on Friday.

Simader will fly the Kenyan flag at the games that will be staged at the Courchevel Tourisme and Meribel in the two skiing events, the super G event on Friday and the downhill event on Saturday.

This is a qualification pathway offering the athletes important ranking points towards the Winter Olympic Games in 2026.

The Skiing World Championships is the highest level of the sport and draws participation from the best athletes from all over the world.

Kenya has participated in four Winter Olympics games, which were held in 1998, 2002, 2006, and 2018.

Cross-country skier Philip Boit represented the nation from 1998 to 2006.
