Strathmore University and Kenyatta University (KU) dominated the biennial 7th edition of Kenya Universities Sports Association (KUSA) championships.
In all ball games, it was an all Strathmore against KU at the finals played at Moi University Annex campus in Eldoret.
KU first won against their opponents in en handball with 29-20 with Victor Luvale and Titus Kipruto scoring 5 and 4 points for KU as Samson Oduor and Brian Murangiri scoring three points each for Strathmore.
In football, In football, Strathmore converted all their fie penalties to defeat KU in post atch penalties following one all draw in regular tie.
After Henry Wafula had opened the score for the champions in the 51st minute, Castro Okendo equaled the score to force the match into penalties.
Eugene Owino, Felix Anani, Henry Wafula, Trevor Odhiambo and Barack Dago while KU’s Brian Ogutu hit the post in the 3rd penalty to hand Strathmore the lead. KU scored through Mark Okoth, Brian Okeyo, Steve Obukuyi and Bill Clinton.
On Women, Masinde Muliro University of Science and Technology (MMUST) defeated KU 3-0 for the title.
MMUST won the women title with a 3-0 on KU with goals from Christable Keya in the 34th minute, Mirriam Chelagat in the 42nd minute and Ruth Chebungei scored the winning goal in the 77th minute.
Strathmore and KU defended both men and women volleyball titles.
Strathmore were KU were 3-1 winners over KU to defend men title in 25-22, 20-25,
27-25 and 25-13.
In women, KU defeated Strathmore 3-2 (25-20, 27-25, 19-25, 21-25 and 16-18.
