Kenya’s appearance at the Africa Nations Championships (CHAN) football tournament was cut short courtesy of Tanzania today in the fight for top Stars fight at Moi Sports Centre, Kasarani.
For the 5th time Kenya has failed to qualify for CHAN and Taifa Stars of Tanzania beat Harambee Stars 4-1 in post-match penalties following a goalless draw in normal and extra time play to end Kenya’s 2020 Chan journey scheduled of Cameroon in January.
Tanzania won in post-match penalties with a barren draw, the same score recorded a week ago in Tanzania first leg.
Tanzania goalkeeper Juma Kaseja saved Micheal Kibwage’s opening penalty with Joash Onyango shooting over as Clifton Miheso netted the only goal while Tanzania converted all their four penalties through Erasto Nyoni, Paulo Nyanganya, Gadiel Micheal and Salim Hamis.
