Telkom, Kenya Police register wins in Hockey League

Telkom Kenya and Kenya Police registered their wins in the ongoing Kenya Hockey league women and men respectively played today at City Park to maintain the lead women’s league.

The multiple national champions Telkom defeated Sliders with Jacky Mwangi and Maureen Okumu netting a brace while Barbara Simiyu and Terry Juma scored a goal each in the 6-1 win against Sliders to maintain their six points lead in the women’s league.

Simiyu netted the first goal before Juma doubling before break but Sliders’ Noel Makena halved as she scored a consolation.

Kenya Police defeated Sailors 2-1 in the men’s category the same venue

Telkom, who are chasing their 22nd league title, went into the weekend in third place in league with 11 points, but would thump Kenyatta University Titans 7-0 on Saturday, before subjecting the 1998 champions Slider to similar wrath to go top.

Scorpions, who were held to a goalless draw on Saturday, now have three wins, three draws and are followed by Lakers with 11 points made of two wins and five draws.

Telkom and Lakers are the only sides yet to concede defeat as the league hits midday.

Police are second with 17 points from five wins, two draws and one loss while Butali Sugar that is the only side yet to lose this season, have five wins and three draws.

Police moved closer to leaders Butali Sugar Warriors.
