Three Kenyans will be officiating at the African Nations Championship (CHAN) come next month in a tournament that will be played in the three nations of Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania.
The tournament, which will start on August 2 to 30 will see Kenyans Stephen Yiembe, Dickens Mimisa, and Samuel Mwangi officiate some of the matches following their appointment by the African Football (CAF).
Nakuru based Yiembe remains the most experienced who will serve as a Video Assistant Referee (VAR) and has officiated at the AFCON, FIFA World Cup qualifiers, and the Olympics.
Mimisa, named Kenya’s 2024 Male Referee of the Year, will officiate as a centre referee while Mwangi will serve as an assistant referee.
With Kenya set to open their CHAN 2024 campaign against DR Congo on August 2 at Kasarani Stadium.
