Top golfers to battle for Kerkeng Enterprise golf title

Kitale golf club will be hosting the third edition of Kerkeng Enterprise golf tournament this Madaraka Day that has attracted golfers from neighbouring clubs of Eldoret, Nandi Bears, Kakamega and Kericho.

According to the organizer led by two time club captain Stephen Malakwen said that this year’s will attract over 75 golfers who have already entered into the draw and post entry allowed.

“We have two main objective of the tournament: spread peace across all sectors in the country and appreciate golfers who supported me while I was the captain of Kitale for two consecutive terms,” said Malakwen.

He added that Kerkeng is a family tournament that he initiated three years ago with the objective of encouraging families to participate in golf to enhances unity and harmony in families and the communities.

“This is part of the inititative to bring families together to foster cohesion. Lake Bogoria Spa Resort are the Gold Sponsors of the tournament and the grand prize is two nights for two at the Lake Bogoria Spa Resort among other exiting prizes. The course is in very condition, thanks to the ongoing rains,” hr added.

Kitale’s top golfer Philip Shiahrsy will be on the tee. Home player D. Plapan will be the first on the tee at 7:40am together with E. Sorobea and G.B Rutto. Another top golfer on the course will be Eliud Weche, immediate Michael Kimutai, John Nzomo, John Chemongos, Hannah Rotenbar.
