Three Kenyans Mary Moraa, Lilian Odira and Sarah Moraa have qualified to compete at the 800m final at the ongoing World Athletics Championships in Tokyo, Japan.
Mary won in semi-final heat One in 1:58.40 ahead of Great Britain’s Georgia Bell (1:58.62) for automatic qualification.
The reigning champion was later joined by compatriots Lilian Odira who also won in the semi-final Heat 2 at 1:56.85 after stunning Audrey Werro of Switzerland (1:56.99) and Australian Jessica Hull (1:57.15).
Sarah finished second in heat 3 after she was reinstated into the semi-final following an appeal qualified for the final but then suffered an injury.
Sarah, who is also world under 20 800 champion recorded her personal best at 1:57.53 just as Britain’s Keely Hodgkinson.
