Tusker beat Ulinzi to qualify for CAF Champions league

Former Kenya Premier league champions Tusker defeated former Champions Ulinzi Stars to book for Confederation of Africa Football (CAF) champions’ league slot in today’s match.

The Nakuru ASK showground encounter was a do or die game for the brewers who needed a win to edge out KCB for the champions league slot.

The league leaders won 4-1 to maintain their top position to end the day top of the standings after Football Kenya Federation had announced that the team at the top of the log on June 30 will represent the country in the competition.

Ulinzi scored first through Boniface Onyango before a Brian Birgen own-goal restored parity for the Brewers as Tusker went ahead through Brian Marita for a 2-1, substitute Kepha Okoth added the third for a 3-1 and another substitute Chris Ochieng the winner.

But the chance went to Tusker despite the bankers beating Nzoia Sugar 2-1 at Ruaraka.

The sugar mil;lers went ahead through Elvis Ronack before Reagan Otieno and Simon Munala scored twice to earn maximum points.
