Tusker came from a goal down to edge out Sofapaka in a Kenya Premier league (KPL) match played at Machakos stadium today.
The eleven time KPL champions Tusker collected maximum points after winning 3-2 against 2009 champions Sofapaka to remain as main contenders of the 2018/2019 KPL title.
John Avire scored one of the fastest goals in the KPL on 48th second so Sofapaka that was cancelled out by Timothy Otieno before substitute John Kamau added the second in the 51st minute for Tusker and Justine Omary grabbed one on 65th minute for a Tusker before Cliff Kasuti drew one back for Sofapaka for a final 3-2 win.
The win was good for Tusker who will temporarily enjoy top of the table with 13 points, seven ahead of Sofapaka. The position could change should Mathare United record a positive result against champions Gor Mahia in their encounter on Sunday.
