Tuwei’s term extended by President Ruto

Athletics Kenya president Jack Tuwei’s term as the Sports, Arts and Social Development Fund Oversight Board chairperson has been extended.

Today, president William Ruto extended his tenure for three years in a gazette notice on said that Tuwei’s appointment takes effect from November 18, this year.

Tuwei, a retired Lieutenant General, was appointed by former President Uhuru Kenyatta for a period of three years that ended few months ago.

“in exercise of powers conferred by regulation 8 (3) of Sports, Arts and Social Development Fund Regulations 2018, I William Ruto, president of the republic of Kenya and Commander in Chief of the Defence Forces Appoint Gen (RTD) Jackson Tuwei to be the chairperson of the sports Arts, and Social Development Fund Oversight Board for a period of Three (3) years with effect from the 18th November 2022,” read the gazette notice.
