Kenyan sensational tennis players Angella Okutoyi has qualified to play in the semifinals of the ongoing W15 Nairobi International Tennis Federation Championships in Nairobi.
The Karen Club clay championships was good for the Kenyan who beat Slovakia’s Emma Tothova 2- 0 in 6- 1 and 6-4 to advance to the semifinals.
Okutoyi, who is the only Kenyan left standing after her twin sister Roselida Asumwa was eliminated early today by Sharmada Balu in 3-6, 7-6(5), 4-6.
Asumwa earned a wild card after Australian Nessa Pratt 6-4, 6-2 withdrew.
Okutoyi defeated Indian Sharanya Shetty 6-0, 6-0 in the first round and Uzbekistan’s Sevil Yuldasheva.
Okutoyi will face Caroline Romeo from France in the semi-finals who beat Celine Simunyu from Ireland 6-2, 6-3.
