Two metropolitan matches on as Deaf Football League enters final matches

Two games will be played this weekend in Metropolitan Region as Kenya Deaf Football League enters the last fixtures across the country.

Blackstars Deaf FC will play Scotland Deaf FC at gems Cambridge International school then Sportif will be hosting the Eastleigh at Rongai Playground.

With the finals set for December 2nd at the University of Nairobi or Kasarani stadium annex, Deaf Football Federation of Kenya president Stephen waweru said that the culmination of the league means a lot to the family of the sporting world.

He said that two teams have already qualified for the national play-off finals. Coastal side the Pirates and Flamingo from Great Rift Region have made it to the finals.

“The league has been going on smoothly and our purpose is to make an awareness that deaf footballers can do in league as well. At the same time, ending the league is to show the good number of clubs in Kenya to know who will be crowned national league champion,” said Waweru.

He added that the league will help them to know who will be most improved players from all clubs then select the best players to be represent Kenya for upcoming world deaf football championship in Malaysia next year 2023.

“With World Cup set for next year, each winning team from regional to be represent regional go to national league championship cup. However, our challenge is that we have no other sponsors to support our league program and national league championship. We are appealing to cooperates to support us for coming national league championship cup this year,” added Waweru.

In Nyanza regional, Bison Deaf fc will face off with ALL-STARS Deaf fc at KMTC playground, in Siaya County.
