Leading the table standings, The University of Eldoret (UoE) is set to cement their top positions at the 4th leg of Kenya Universities Sports Association (KUSA)Rugby sevens series heads to Moi University’s Father Kizito grounds this weekend.
As Masinde Muliro University of Science and Technology (MMUST) will be hungry to win their third title as well as Kenyatta University side Blak Blad who are chasing a second title.
Leading pool C that has Kabarak, Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (JKUAT), UoE has competed in all tournaments, picking points in each meeting hence topping the charts.
Head coach Kelvin Mwisheni said they are prepared for the tournament and playing at Moi is as well as playing at home.
“Moi is our home ground and we expect good results come tomorrow,” said Mwisheni.
In the last series MMUST, UoE finished 4th overall after falling to Zetech University in the third place play-offs.
But hosts, who finished 8th after beating Technical University of kenya (TUK) Moi University will be looking to bounce back and dominate on home ground.
The Ali Mbaraka led side has collected few points heading to their backyard.
“We want to p-lay against MMUST and Kabarak who beat us in the last meeting. After that we will see what follows but what we want is revenge,” said Mbaraka.
MMUST defeated Blak Blad at the finals at their backyard to claim their second title after winning the opener in Mombasa after beating hosts Technical University of Mombasa (TUM) at the finals. Blad on their side won the second leg at the Meru University a month ago.
MMUST leads pool A alongside Dedan Kimathi University of Technology (DeKUT) and hosts Moi while Zetech leads pool B with Daystar, TUK and Cooperative University.
