Peter Wambugu defeated David Nduati on count back to win the Division A during the Club’s Madaraka Day Golf Tournament at the Karen golf club on Thursday in an event that attracted a field of over 243 golfers.
The duo coming from the host club, carded a solid 40 stable ford points to claim the day’s bragging rights.
Wambugu calimed the title with Nduati, who was the Division’s runner-up as Ken Ombati took top honours in the first nine with 22 points with Rose Mambo being crowned the second nine winner after she carded 24 points.
In the Division B category, Moses Alobo emerged top with a commendable tally of 40 points ahead of Anne Mahinda in second with a solitary point difference at 39.
In the nines, Aaron Gitonga and Rosemary Maitha carded 21 points apiece to claim top honours in the first and second nine respectively.
Among the juniors, Njukia Kihara showcased remarkable talent, capturing the top position in the category having carded 37 points, while Richard Stonewigg emerged as the overall Gross Winner of the tournament with 78 gross.

The course, as always was in very good condition and we all enjoyed playing on it. The event was held in commemoration of Madaraka Day, a significant milestone in Kenya’s history that marked sixty years since the country gained internal self-rule from the British
