Wanjiru win silver as Assefa wins Berlin marathon

Rosemary Wanjiku Monica won silver at the Berlin Marathon hewld today in Berlin, Germany.

Making her debut in the 42km race, the Kenyan finished second behind champion Tigist Assefa from Ethiopia.

Wanjir crossed the finish line in 2:18.00 as Assefa won in 2:15:37 shuttering the former record of Gladys Cherono at 2:18:11.
