Olympic gold medalist Emmanuel Wanyonyi and Olympic 800m champion Mary Moraa were first and second finishers at the Stockholm Diamond League held today on Sweden.
Wanyonyi ran with a world lead to win the 800m title, second of the season in the series ahead of the World Athletics Championships in Tokyo, Japan.
The world 800m silver medalist clocked 1:41.95 for the title ahead of Algerian Djamel Sedjati who was second at 1:42.27 and American Josh Hoey was third in 1:42.43 with both earning season best.
This was back to back wins for Wanyonyi after winning Oslo event on Thursday at 1:42.78.
Moraa, competing in her first series managed second position when she clocked 1:57.83 behind Great Britain’s Georgia Hunter Bell (1:57.66) with South African Prudence Sekgodiso at 1:58.00.
