Wazito will remain in the Kenya premier League following their victory against Murang’a Seal in promotion cum demotion play offs.
Today, the KPL’s Wazito lost 3-2 to national Super League side Murang’a Seal at St Sebastian Park in Murang’a but remained in the top flight football with an aggregate of 4-4 with Wazito winning on away goals after their 2-1 win in the first leg last Thursday in Thika.
Dennis Munyovi bagged a brace when he started with his 40th minute when he successfully converted from the spot kick-before bagging the brace in the 45th minute for a 2-0 lead for homeside in the first half.
On resumption, Wazito’s Curtis Wekesa scored a goal in the 47th minute for a 2-1 lead then Fabian Adikiny extended Murang’a’s lead with 3-1 in the 60th minute but Maurice ‘Wise’ Otieno scored the second goal for Wazito in the 83rd minute for a 3-2 lead to guide them retain their position in the KPL.
Wazito had finished 16th in the FKF-PL ahead of Vihiga Bullets and Mathare United, who were both relegated, while Seal finished third in the NSL with APS Bomet and Fortune Sacco finishing in the top two positions to secure automatic promotion.
