Western region counties of Vihiga, Busia and Kakamega will be staging their championships this Saturday.
Western region A.K chairman Patrick Kipsang said they want to come out with a formidable regional team that will compete with others to ensure they succeed at the nationals.
He added that the weekend championships programmes have already been set, ready for the event come Saturday.
“We want to ensure that we get the best team from the counties to see if we collect maximum points at the national. We also want to have some of our runners representing the country at the continental cross country championships,” said Kipsang.
Out of the four counties, Bungoma held their event last Saturday.
Busia will be staging their show in Busia town ground as Kakamega and Vihiga running at Masinde Muliro University of Science and Technology (MMUST) and Chavakali schools respectively.
MMUST will also be hosting the regional championships
