Africa Athletics 400m hurdles bronze medalist Wiseman Were maintained his unbeaten run, winning the 400m hurdles at the second leg of Athletics Kenya track and field meeting at the Ulinzi Sports complex today.
The Kenya Defence Forces man won the hurdles title in 14.32 ahead of Kipkorir Rotich (14.91) and William Mbevi coming third at 15.43.
Gideon Kipngetich and Sandrafelis Chebet won the 5,000m and 10,000m respectively.
The South Rift runner won the title in 13:43.7 ahead of Francis Abong who was second in 13:46.8 and Silas Sechura.
Chebet won the race in 32:35.43 ahead of Rebecca Mwangi who clocked 33:10.88 and Monica Wanjiku completed the podium at 33:25.43.
Winny Chebet won semifinal one to qualify into the finals set for tomorrow 4:22.1 ahead of compatriot Vivian Chebet (4:22.4) and Kebeberesi’s Mary Nyaboke competing for the podium at 4:22.6.
Heat two was won by Mary Nyaruai in 4:14.0 ahead of Mercy Chepkorir (4:24.9) and Diana Chepkemoi at 4:26.3.
Nancy Chepkemei won heat 2 followed by refugee athlete Angelina Nadai and Sharon Chepkemoi for top three positions clocking 4:29.3, 4:30.1 and 4:34.2 respectively.
