Winless Simbas fall to Hong Kong in Rugby World Cup Repechage

Kenya Simbas lost their last Rugby World cup Qualifying repechage in the ds of Hong Kong played today inn Duba.

The Paul Odera coached side lost 22-18 their third loss after going down 85-0 in the hands of Portugal Wolves and 68-14 in the opening match against the American Eagles.

Kenya finished their campaign without a win and at the bottom of the four-team as The Eagles and Wolves were to take on each other for a place in the RWC final due for France next year.

John Okoth touched down first for Simbas unconverted try before Gregory McNeish converted Luke Van Der Smith’s try for Hong Kong to lead 7-5, Geoffrey Ominde converted Jacob Ojee’s try for 12-07 lead for Kenya then converted two penalties for Simbas’ 18-7 lead at the break.

But on resumption, Hong Kong went on rampage with McNeigh converting a penalty and converted Sean Taylor’s try for 18-17 and Jak Lam landed the try the final uncovertedtry for a 22-18 win.
