Daniel Wisoh bagged a brace to guide GFE 105 beat Wafalme in today’s Football Kenya Federation Division One match played at the Kipchoge Keino stadium in Eldoret.
Coming from a goal down in the first half, the Hussein Okaka side charged into a 2-1 victory to remain in contenders for National Super league promotion at the end of the season.
With five matches remaining in the third tier league, Okaka said that they are taking a game like a final to ensure they acquire that promotion slot.
“When we were 1-0 down, it was so disturbing because we are chasing a slot to NSL given that this is a derby. But the equalizer was a sweet thing for us and I made changes and the strategy to win the match and I knew I was going to win after the goal,” said Okaka.
He added that Wisoh failed to open up for the ball in the first half but once he was told what to do, he followed the instructions that yielded positive results.
“I had to make him (Wisoh), to starting opening up to receive ball that yielded into goals,” said Okaka.
He said that they are well prepared for the next matches with only five remaining.
“We don’t underrate any team because this is a contention and we are taking each much like it is a final.”
At the pitch, Felix Ochieng scored the opening goal in the 39th minute for Wafalme to take a 1-0 lead into break.
But two minutes after the break, Wisoh’s left foot shot leveled the score line at 1-1 before sealing the 2-1 victory at 89th minute.
