Reigning soccer champions Wiyeta Girls’ and newcomers Shanderema Boys played out to a draw in the second matc at the ongoing Kenya Secondary Schools Sports Association in Kakamega.
At Bukhungu stadium, Western side Shanderema played to a one-all draw against Nyanza’s Agoro Sare in their second pool A match.
Maxwell Wamalwa scored for shaderema in the 37th minute before Geoffrey Omondo leveled in the 67th minute for the two teams to tie with four points each ahead of Thursday’s final pool matches.
In other boys’ matches, St Anthony’s Kitale from Rift Valley were 2-0 winners over Coast’s Serani boys in pool B while Dagoretti from Nairobi were 2-0 winners over Matiliku.
In another pool A match, Harar recovered well after 7-0 loss to Shanderema, loset 3-2 to Kirangari.
In girls’ champions Wiyeta girls from Rift Valley were held to a 1-1 draw with Western’s Madira in game two.
Edna Wanda scored for Wiyeta in the 40th minute of the second half to cancel out Valarie Nekesa’s 2nd minute goal.
In other girls’ matches, Nyanza’s Lwak girls thrashed Coast’s Mbitini 4-1, Nairobi’s Dagoretti were 2-1 winners over Njabini and Western’s Butere humiliated Ngomabi 5-0.
In volleyball girls’ rift valley’s Kesogon defeated Nyanza’s Nyakach straight sets in 25-19, 25-17 and 25-10, Senior Chief lost 0-3 to champions Kwanthanze in 5-25, 2-25 and 3-25, as Vyambani lost to former champions 0-3 to Soweto in 11-25, 10-25 and 14-25.
In other results, Mwitoti were 3-0 winners over Karima 25-14, 25-13 and 25-13
In boys’ volleyball, Rift valley’s and new comers Andersen 3- 0 Ruthimitu 25-22, 25-20 and 25-19, Furaha lost in straight set to Tumaini in 8-25, 10-25 and 9-25, reigning national finalists Namwela beat Vitengeni 3-1 in 23-25, 25-19, 25-15 and 25-22 as Onjiko lost 1-3 o Tetu in 25-21, 21-25, 20-25 and 22-25.
